Step 1: Remove all 16 hex bolts that secure the upper panels of the dash fascia.

Step 2: Unclip this fascia entirely: there is a central clip beneath the audio unit/screen that also requires releasing.

Step 3: Locate the bracket with the two retaining bolts on the left of the head unit.

Step 4: Refit the panel around the bracket, ensuring that the rear of the plate does not scratch the panel.

Step 5: Refit the hex bolts.
